“What’s an Executive Vehicle?”

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN

Simply put, a Friendly Executive Vehicle is also known as a demo (short for “demonstrator”) vehicle, which is a new vehicle that has been driven but never registered. Friendly Executive Vehicles sometimes include vehicles we use to take Friendly Acura customers on test drives. Vehicles we use as courtesy cars in our Friendly Service department — for customers who we need to keep their vehicle for a period of time — may also be classified as Friendly Executive Vehicles.

But the most common Executive Vehicles at Friendly Acura are those which we allow our managers and Friendly sales team to drive on a regular basis so that they can effectively answer questions customers may have.

From the Integra to the MDX, Friendly Acura vehicles are tried and true, and we want to be able to help you find the best vehicle to fit your lifestyle. The best way to help you get this information is to find out firsthand.

For example, how the vehicle handles different types of drives or accommodates different kinds of activities. Can an Integra fit two sets of golf clubs in the trunk? What about four kids and all of their gear in an MDX? Can I fit a set of skis in the back of the RDX? Have you ever taken a TLX on a road trip?

Q.) HOW MANY OF YOUR CARS ARE FRIENDLY EXECUTIVE VEHICLES?

A.) The actual number of Friendly Friendly Executive Vehicles we have varies from month to month, but they won’t all be TLXs or all MDXs. We generally choose a couple vehicles from each model line for that particular model year, since we want to be able to answer questions customers may have for every new Acura model.

Q.) HOW MANY MILES ARE ON YOUR EXECUTIVE VEHICLES? DOES IT AFFECT MY WARRANTY?

A.) This will vary depending on the vehicle. Some Executive Vehicles see a few more test drives than others, some have been driven for a longer period of time, etc. However, the most number of miles we allow a Friendly Executive Vehicle to accumulate is 6,000. And the mileage on these vehicles does affect Acura’s standard new vehicle warranties.

All new Friendly Executive Vehicles are covered by the same 4-Year/50,000-Mile Limited Warranty and 6-Year/70,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty that all new Acura vehicles are covered by. The vehicle’s final mileage will be deducted from the factory warranties, and the vehicle will be covered for the remaining balance of miles. However, certain Friendly Executive vehicles are classified as Certified Pre-Owned, which are covered for up to 100,000 miles under a Limited Powertrain Warranty. Please check with your Friendly Sales Consultant for complete details.

For example, if an Executive Vehicle has been driven 5,500 miles at the time you buy or lease it, your warranties would be for 44,500 miles on the Limited Warranty and 64,500 miles on the Powertrain Limited Warranty. When you sign the final paperwork, we will inform you what precisely how many miles your warranty coverage will be for.

Q.) WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO CHOOSING A FRIENDLY EXECUTIVE VEHICLE?

A.) You might be wondering to yourself, “If it affects my warranty, why would a Friendly Executive Vehicle be the way to go instead of buying a lightly used vehicle?” That’s a great question, and here are three great reasons:

1. Friendly Executive Vehicles are offered at a lower price than other new vehicles to make up for the additional mileage.

The amount discounted is relative to the price of the vehicle and the number of miles it was driven, but it can range anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars off the retail price of the same vehicle brand new. If your goal is to negotiate the best price, then a Friendly Executive Vehicle is a great choice because they’re priced lower than other new vehicles.

2. We have the full service and detail history of the vehicle, which is not always available for every used vehicle.

Friendly Executive Vehicles are cars that we drive and interact with on a daily basis – if we rely on them to help sell cars, you can bet that we put every effort in to make sure that they’re taken care of very well. Even the most minuscule noise or tiny blemishes on our Executive Vehicles are taken care of as soon as we hear or see them. Our Used Vehicle department does a great job of this with our used car inventory as well, but here’s the difference: we know who drove that car on what day and where, and that kind of information just doesn’t show up on a CARFAX.

3. There are far more options available for leasing or financing a new vehicle than a used vehicle.

Because they’ve never been registered, Friendly Executive Vehicles are still classified as new vehicles, and new vehicles have different finance programs available than used. The crazy-low finance rates advertised on television for new vehicles still apply to an Executive Vehicle. So do the Friendly & Honest Leases we offer. On the other hand, financing a used vehicle can be a completely different ball game (depending on the car), and leasing a used vehicle is not available.

So, if you’re the kind of person who would only consider buying a used car (probably because of the price, and because you don’t mind not being the first person to drive that vehicle)…

then a Friendly Executive Vehicle from Friendly Acura is a great option.
